Nigeria commits trillions of Naira to its annual budget yearly - capital and recurrent expenditures. Can someone enlighten me why we have high rate of youth unemployment, poorly staffed and resourced hospitals, pitiable education infastructures to mention a few! Is there a process for monitoring the performance of allocated budgets in Nigeria - where does this responsibility lie?
I believe that's part of Nigeria's problem (if not the biggest), there's a lack of accountability.
*The government forgets that if they do not invest in the youths, there's no hope for the future as the youths of this generation will one day be running the country. If they're uneducated and lack experience, they will remain incompetent and will fail in their duties.
*Don't they understand that by investing in the healthcare of the country, the elite would not have to go abroad for treatment. In fact, perhaps people will come from overseas to obtain treatment in Nigeria and that will in turn generate revenue and contribute to the countries economy.
